Review after the first month
We implemented the GPS tracking system for our fleet of 12 trucks operating on the Bucharest–Vienna route. In the first month, we observed a clear reduction in downtime and better resource allocation. For example, drivers who frequently deviated from the route for personal stops were automatically flagged, and subsequent discussions led to behavior correction.
One aspect that pleasantly surprised me was the accuracy of the consumption data. We were able to compare the actual consumption on each road segment with the estimated one, and the differences were under 3%. This helped us identify two vehicles that needed maintenance on the injection system before the problem became serious.
On the configuration side, it took about a week until all devices were mounted and set up correctly. The support team responded quickly to questions regarding the integration with our internal billing software. The only inconvenience was that some alerts arrived late in the mobile app, but after a firmware update, the issue was resolved.
In conclusion, after 30 days of use, I can say the investment was justified. We reduced fuel costs by approximately 8% and improved driver discipline. Next, we plan to test the technical wear analysis module, about which we have heard good things from other companies.
